HOME                    STUDIOS          CARAVAN                     ZANZIBAR
The ZANZIBAR in Agia Galini is our antipole to living in the middle of nowhere. Situated at the bus stop located at the upper platia of the village, near the church, the ZANZIBAR is the meeting and information stopover for many of our guests upon arrival and departure. A coffeshop with internet facilities during the day and a bar for drinks and socializing in the evening.

Every wednesday in wintertime the ZANZIBAR is in the evening a meeting point for locals and local foreigners as well as for the longterm holiday makers who enjoy the life in Crete during the winter months. News are spread, people play darts, discuss the issues of living in Crete, listen to music, sing and dance. Everyone knows everyone.

In summertime life takes place outside. Newly arriving guests, passers by from all countries, people coming to Crete for many years - they all meet and mingle with a cup of coffee, a glas of wine or some raki on our terrace. Everyone exchanges information concerning holiday in Crete, worthwhile excursions, places to see, places to eat out or special events.

Once a month there is a live music night, featuring our friend Eric from Chania. He plays folk, rock, golden oldies or his own songs and encounters a very happy audience at every gig.

We have created a cosy couch and the books-and internet-corner for those of you who are looking for a more quiet time: just reading while sipping a drink, exchanging books or getting on the internet in privacy - anything is possible and everyone just does as he or she feels like.
